Abstract

PURPOSE:To expand or reduce the relative turning orbit of a surface plate for mounting an electrode caused by a cam mechanism, by vertically moving an orbital guide in accordance with the progress in spark erosion by means of a lever mechanism which converts the transfer into the turning angle. CONSTITUTION:A frame 2 is fitted to the tip of a main spindle 1 which controls the servo feed of a spark erosion machine, and an electrode 28 is mounted to a surface plate 26. The vertical movement of a conical ring 11 is controlled by a internally conical surface 5 to which the ring 11 is inscribed, while the vertical movement of an orbital guide 4, which is proportional to the transfer of main spindle 1, is controlled by the angle of a tilting plate 39. This means that the turning radius of the electrode 28 which makes transitional rotary movenemt being guided by the surface 5 can be exhausted or reduced in accordance with the descend of main spindle 1. The simply shaped electrode 28 thus can machine a tapered face.
