Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the electrolytic current efficiency, keeping a narrow gap stably between the electrodes, by disposing a diaphragm in a frame body having protrusions on both sides, and disposing an anode and a cathode contacting with the protrusions, when electrolyzing drinking water.
CONSTITUTION: A diaphragm 12 made of fiber such as polyester and nylon is disposed in an enclosed container main body 1a, and a partition body 7 consisting of beams 8 formed in longitudinal and lateral directions is placed to divide into an anode chamber and a cathode chamber. Multiple protrusions 11 are provided on both sides of the beams 8 of this partition body 7. Being in contact with these protrusions, a cathode 5 made of carbon and an anode 6 made of ferrite, magnetite, or the like are placed, and the container is sealed with a cap body 1b. By supplying power through a bus bar 9, power is fed to the drinking water pressed in from a feed port 2. Ionic water such as Ca and Mg is obtained from the cathode chamber, and cosmetic water for facial rinsing containing SO4, Cl and other ions is obtained from the anode chamber. Although the drinking water is inferior in conductivity, since the anode and cathode can be disposed at a narrow gap without short-circuiting them because of the presence of protrusions on the frame body, the electric resistance between the electrodes is small, and the electrolytic current efficiency may be increased.
