Abstract
PURPOSE: To eliminate backlash at rotor at high temperature by preparing the rotor and the casing made of an aluminum alloy of the same thermal expansion coefficient.
CONSTITUTION: As a drive axis 6 is rotated, each working room 10 changes its volume and air is forced into an inlet 11 and drawn out of an outlet 12. In this operation, no locking tends to take place between the outer periphery of a rotating member 5 and the inner periphery of a casing 2, since the totor 5 and the casing 2 being made of an aluminum alloy have the same thermal expansion coefficient and, accordingly, produce no differences in thermal expansion even at elevated temperatures. Besides, the rotor 5 is captively supported on the axis 6 with an intermediate of a bushing 7 having a higher thermal expansion coefficient than the rotor 5 as well as excellent wear-resisting properties, and no play tends to occur to the support of the rotor 5 on the axis 6 even at elevated temperatures, consequently preventing any backlashes of the former against the latter, resulting further in reducing objectionable noises during operation.
