Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the number of overlapped layers and weight by varying the orientation angle of reinforced fiber such that the elastic modulus of bending is progressively increased from the load point of the leaf spring toward support points thereof. CONSTITUTION:The orientation angle theta of reinforced fiber is changed to change the elastic modulus in the direction of length of the leaf spring. In the case of the carbon-fiber reinforced resin, by setting the orientation angle theta at point A to 0 deg. and at point B to + or -45 deg. the elastic modulus can be set at point A to 14t/mm<2> and at point B to 18t/mm<2>. The extent of increase of the elastic modulus from point B to point A can be freely varied through control of the degree of change of the orientation angle between these points.
