Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve mechanical charactheristics of a fiber reinforced plastic for a propeller shaft by specifying its fiber array to the shaft direction of the propeller shaft. CONSTITUTION:A propeller shaft of plastic is reinforced by a fiber 1 for reinforcement which contains a carbon fiber, glass fiber or organic fiber of high elasticity. The fiber reinforced plastic is composed of a cross laminated layer which has a fiber array angle of less than 60 deg. to the shaft direction of the propeller shaft and a laminated laye which contains at least partially a cross laminated layer of a fiber array angle of 60 deg.-90 deg..
