Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the subject mechanism capable of obtaining a molded article of excellent quality and of shortening the molding cycle, wherein a beryllium-copper mold cooling mechanism is provided at the boss for fitting a deep-frame Braun tube, and cooling air is passed through a boss shaft pin. CONSTITUTION:A lines is formed with the outer diameter of a circular rib 13 around the periphery of the fitting boss of a metal mold main body 1, and the entire part of the liner is formed into a beryllium-copper cooling body 14 of beryllium-copper thereby to cool the molds of the reinforcing rib and boss outer diameter. Cooling water 20 is introduced from the pipe disposed in a movable mold base 10 into a groove 17 provided at the outer wall of the cooling body 14 to cool the entire part of beryllium-copper excellent in thermal conductivity. Water leakage is checked by an O-ring 15. For the mold cooling of the boss shaft pin 16, cooling air 21 is directly extruded through a pipe provided in the movable mold base 10, and passed through the boss shaft pin 16, thereby to suppress the rise of the mold temperature.
