Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable measurement of changes in infinitesimal resistance and reactance of low impedance continuously by electrostatically coupling the output of a high frequency power supply to two parallel tuning circuits and connecting measuring and compensating circuits in parallel to the tuning circuits.
CONSTITUTION: Parallel tuning circuits L1,l1-C1V (measuring circuit), L1', l1'-C1V' having equal constants are electrostatically coupled through infinitesimal capacitances CO1, CO1' to the high voltage side terminal of the output tank circuit LO-RO-CO of a high frequency power supply OSC. A series circuit of capacitances C1,C2 and C1', C2' is connected in parallel with the tuning circuits, a tuning circuit having L2-C2e', L2'-C2e is conneeted in series with the capacitances C2 and C2', and metallic specimen is inserted through a coil L2. A circuit of a loss variation indicator VgR and a reactance variation indicator VgC is electromagnetically coupled with L1, l 1, L1', l2' of the tuning circuit. When the values of the circuit elements are so set as to satisfy the special condition, the outputs to the indicators VgR, VgC can be maximized with respect to the infinitesimal resistance and reactance variations.
