Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide optical glass with a high refractive index, high dispersibility, superior chemical durability and superior mechanical strength by introducing a specified ratio of BPO4 or Al(PO3)3 into glass of SiO2-TiO2-Nb2O5-Na2O and/or K2O type.
CONSTITUTION: SiO2 10W35wt%, TiO2 10W45%, Na2O 0W30%, K2O 0W30%, (Na2O+K2O 20W30%), BPO4 0W30%, Al(PO3)3 0W11%, (BPO4+Al(PO3)3 1W30%), Nb2O5 11W40%, Ta2O5 0W15%, ZrO2 0W5%, WO3 0W5%, (Nb2O5+ Ta2O5+ZrO2+WO3 11W40%), As2O3 0.1W1%, B2O3 0W10%, GeO2 0W10% and Al2O3 0W5% are mixed, melted at 1200W1300°C, clarified, agitated, poured into a mold heated to an appropriate temp., and slowly cooled to obtain optical glass with a refractive index of 1.68W1.84 and an abbe no. of 22W32.
