Abstract

PURPOSE:To let magnetic material particles in gas or liquid be separated inexpensively and efficiently by containing the plural elements formed with a plurality of protrusions and holes in the perpendicular direction to part of plates in a vessel and providing a means of applying magnetic fields perpendicularly to the plate surfaces. CONSTITUTION:Plural combined elements 11 each comprising forming a plurality of protrusions 2 and holes 3 by louvering part of a magnetic material plate 1 in its perpendicular direction are so fixed by means of jigs 12, 12' in a vinyl chloride vessel 14 (having inlet and outlet for liquid) as not to make contact with each other. Permanent magnets 13, 13' are built therein by using a yoke 15 made of mild steel. When the gas or liquid containing magnetic material particles is treated while applying magnetic fields nearly perpendicularly to the elements 11, then the magnetic fluxes converge near the ends of the protrusions 2 which in turn generate large magnetic field grades, thus the rate of filtration may be made extremely higher than that of conventional methos. It is effective to use the compound elements comprising combining fine wire gaugeds such as of stainless steel or other for the abovementioned elements.
