Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of magnetic separation by preventing neighboring magnetic objects from contacting so that the connection of magnetic fluxes may be cut and by making positions of the largest magnetic gradient contact with liquids of gases. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic material blocks 1 are supported by nonmagnetic wires 5 and are arranged in a magnetic field. This structure can be made by gluing the magnetic material blocks 1 with an adhesive or making magnetic powder and some binder into blocks and sintering them with the nonmagnetic metal wires 5. It is also possible to arrange the magnetic material blocks appropriately in some nonmagnetic metal. In such structure, the magnetic material blocks 1 are supported by the nonmagnetic material, therefore, magnetic fluxes do not concentrate in the supporting material, and so nearly all of the magnetic field of the magnetic material blocks 1 can be used to catch magnetic particles. Further, the magnetic material blocks 1 are prevented from sticking to each other, and so the effect of removing magnetic particles can be improved.
