Abstract

1525071 Magnetic separators ASEA AB 8 Jan 1976 [9 Jan 1975] 00620/76 Heading B2J A magnetic separator for removing magnetic particles from liquids or gases, comprises a plurality of parallel discs, one of which is shown in section in Fig. 4, mounted on a common rotatable shaft and each disc containing permanent magnets 16 to generate fields between the discs from where accumulated magnetic particles are removed by scraping means such as conveyor belts (10) Fig. 2 (not shown) and each disc has a peripheral band 18 of soft iron or other magnetically conductive material to reduce the magnetic field at the perimeter of the discs. A rubber seal 20 can be applied to the disc perimeter.
