Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide resonance of only needed frequencies even in a frequency band more than hundreds MHz by coupling thickness vibrating resonators by a surface elastic wave. CONSTITUTION:High-frequency electric inputs from terminals 5 and 6 are converted into elastic wave 15 by a transducer composed of piezoelectric body 3 and electrodes 2 and 4 and the wave radiated into elastic body 1 is reflected on the top surface of elastic body 1 to obtain elastic wave 16 and further reflected by the reverse surface of it to obtain elastic wave 15, thereby causing thickness resonance through repetitive operations mentioned above. On the top surface of a resonator, periodic grooves 7 and 8 are made and when elastic wave 15 reaches groove 7, part of it is converted into surface elastic wave 17. Although the sectional shape of groove 7 is not limited to a triangle in this case, period P should agree with the wave-length of surface elastic wave 17 to be converted. In this way, elastic wave 15 is selectively converted into surface elastic wave 17 only at the time of resonance of aimed resonance frequency (fN) among many resonance frequencies.
