Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the formation of the defects of a fluorescent screen, by adding a slurry receiving pan to a screening machine for automatically applying phosphor slurry on the inner surfaces of face plate panels.
CONSTITUTION: Phosphor slurry 1 is sent out by means of a pump 2, placed on a carrier 7 and injected to face plate panels 6, which move in quick succession, through a nozzle 8. A slurry receiving pan 9 is mounted to a lower portion of the nozzle 8 in a revolution-possible shape, and the pan is connected to a tank 5 by means of a piping 10. When detecting no loading of the panels 6 on the carrier 7 on the way of a process, the receiving pan 9 shifts onto the carrier, and a set quantity of slurry is injected to the receiving pan 9 from the nozzle 8. Thus, the quality of a fluorescent screen can be improved because no unevenness of application is formed by the increase of the concentration of a phosphor in slurry.
