Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve contrast by feeding suspension mixed with a pigment having higher precipitation speed than phosphor material into a phosphor material suspension and applying the pigment on the interface of the face plate by difference in the precipitation speed. CONSTITUTION:After injecting a mixture solution prepared by dissolving pure water and barium acetate into a glass bulb 1, suspension 2 obtained by suspending phosphor particles and pigment particles in a potassium silicate solution is added thereto. Pigment having higher precipitation speed than phosphor particles is preferably employed. When it is allowed to stand still to precipitate, pigment particles first precipitate on the upper surface of the face plate 1a and then phosphor particles precipitate on it. Afterward, phosphor surface is completed through baking. A fluorescent screen having uniform and high contrast without peeling can be obtained.
