Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable the connector plate having grooves of high accuracy to be voluminously produced by making a mold for connector plates and sintering ceramics material such as alumina powder or other in this mold. CONSTITUTION:The original mold of the connector plate 1 which has been worked highly accurately with grooves 2 for accepting the optical fibers to be connected is made on the surface of a glass substrate or metal plate. Next, molten beeswax is poured in this original mold and is hardened, after which it is separated, whereby the mold for the connector plate 1 is made. Ceramics material such as of alumina powder of, e.g., about 1mu size is buried in this mold 1 without any spacing, after which it is heated at a temperature of, e.g., about 1000 deg.C, whereby it is sintered and the required connector is made.
