Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an optically utilized surface from a surface shrinkage and to manufacture the accurate prism by a method wherein the whole of a molding device is cooled while keeping the part contd. in a mold corresponding to an optically non- utilized surface of the prism at a higher temperature than the other part of the mold in case the prism is manufactured by injection molding. CONSTITUTION:A molding material P is fed from an injection cylinder 7 into a cavity K having the configuration of the prism. In a cooling process, the whole of the molding device is cooled while keeping parts 415, 416 in the mold which are corresponding to the optically non-utilized surface of the prism at a temperature 10-20 deg.C higher than the same in other parts by a temperature keeping means 6. According to this method, the surface shrinkage can be concentrated easily at the optically non-utilized surface of the prism and the surface shrinkage at the optically utilized surface may be prevented, therefore, the prism having a good accuracy may be manufactured.
