Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform adjustment fully automatically and enable the image pickup of the finest condition to be obtained even by unskilled persons by so driving a lens driving part as to maintain the lens in the finest focusing condition by way of a servo drive signal generating circuit by the output signal obtainable from image sensing elements.
CONSTITUTION: The apparatus is so constituted that the subject 1 images on the photoconductive surface of an impage pickup tube 3 by way of an optical lens 2. The subject image having been formed is converted to charge patterns by the photoconductive surface of the image pickup tube 3, whereby output signals are obtainable. The output signals are amplified by a video preamplifier 4 and video amplifier 5 and are then transmitted to a signal processing circuit. In addition, the output signals go through a sampling circuit 6, peak detector 7 and servo driving signal generating circuit 8 thereby constituting the servo mechanism so as to drive a servo driving part 9 for driving the lens 2. Thereby, the focusing and adjustment of brightness of the lens may be performed fully automatically, whereby the image pickup of the finest condition may be obtained.
