Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase greatly the detectable range for the sound source by giving a comparison between the low frequency signal obtained through demodulation and the phase of the demodulated wave featuring the same form as the low frequency signal. CONSTITUTION:The FM wave received the frequency modulation is sent out to the ultrasonic wave from sound source 1. The FM wave is received at two receivers 2 and 2 and then demodulated via FM demodulators 3 and 3, thus the demodulated wave being drawn out. This demodulated wave features the same form as the low frequency signal. And the phase is compared among these demodulated waves at phase comparator 4. Based on the phase difference, sound source 1 gives comparison to the phase of the detected demodulated wave featuring the same form as the low frequency signal. Thus distance difference S can be increased between the sound source and the two receivers. As a result, the detectable range can be increased greatly for the sound source.
