Abstract

CONSTITUTION: In an upset butt welding process, a direct welding current of a constant value is fed from plus electrode 1 to minus electrode 2. After a fixed period of time, the welding current is sloped down and in succession, a deposition finishing current of a constant value is fed as long as or longer than the feed time of the welding current, thereby finishing an upset. Immediately after the feed of the finishing current, cooling water is jetted out from pipe 4 upon welded part (b), which is rapidly cooled. Through this solidifying heat treatment, chromium carbide deposited in welding is solidified again inside of chain member A. Therefore, products can be obtained which have juncture surface parts with excellent tensile resistance and bending resistance.
