Abstract
PURPOSE: Not only to shorten the forging time but also to elevate the forging dimension accuracy, by installing 2 pairs of pressure devices equipped with two opposed pressure heads so that the pressure shafts can intersect, and operating each of them by a large stroke at low speed, and a small stroke at high speed.
CONSTITUTION: The opposed horizontal anvils 2, 3 are mounted at both the sides of the steel ingot to be forged 1. The horizontal anvils 2, 3 are installed at the tip of the horizontal forging head 5 which is operated by the hydraulic pressure cylinder 6. Also, the upper anvil 8 and the lower anvil 9 are installed so that they are opposed, in the upper and lower directions of the steel ingot 1, and the upper anvil 8 is set to the lower face of the slide 10 which is operated by the hydraulic pressure cylinder 14 installed to the upper press frame 13. The lower anvil 9 is attached to the lower press frame 4, and the frame 4 is linked with the upper press frame 13 with two pillars. The forged product of excellent dimension accuracy is forged with high productivety, by operating the aforesaid hydraulic pressure cylinders 6 and 14 by a large stroke at low speed and a small stroke at high speed, depending upon the kinds of the forging work.
