Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform the centrifugal separation of solution components automatically and continuously while distributing them gradually to plural recessions provided in a row in the inner wall of rotor by means of the rotating centrifual force of a centrifugal rotor.
CONSTITUTION: While rotating the rotor 1 at 8000rpm, blood is injected from an injector into the bottom of the rotor 1 and then supplied to the recessions provided in a row in the inner wall of the rotor 1 by means of the centrifugal force of the rotor 1, from which the blood is qradually filled into each of the through grooves 5 and the recessions 4A. In the paths, the blood is effectively and centrifugally separated without slipping in the recessions 4 of shallow bottom, and then the blood- plasma component stored in the desired recession 4X after the fourth recession is moved to the through hole 8 side, through which it is automatically introduced into the liquid storage chamber 9. At the same time, water injected from the injector is supplied from the through hole 7 into the recession 4X to wash out the blood- plasma component in the recession 4X.
