Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve power generation efficiency, by proving on the front and back surfaces of a semiconductor base of one conductivity type a power generator unit, which, together with this base, forms a Schottky barrier.
CONSTITUTION: Light incident via silicon monoxide film 10, which becomes a reflection preventing film, passes through gold film 9 and silicon dioxide film 8, enters base 7, and produces minority carriers inside the base. Of the minority carriers so produced, those which move toward the front surface of the base pass through the Schottky barrier on the front side and those which move toward the back surface of the base pass through the Schottky barrier on the back side. Consequently, both of them can be taken out as photoelectric current from output terminals 13, 14. Incident lighy which has passed through base 7 and reached its back surface is reflected by gold film 12 and returned to the inside of base 7, and contributes to the procuction of minority carriers in the base again.
