CONSTITUTION:The metal fluorides selected from MgF2, LiF, NaF, KF and Na2SiF6 are further added to calcium oxide or the one compounded with 5-20%, based on this, of carbon contents, e.g., graphite, coke, etc., whereby the desulfurizer for molten iron is obtained. The amount of addition of the metal fluorides is 0.1- 10% based on the calcium oxide.
