Abstract
PURPOSE: To permit both dehumidifying and regenerating actions to advantage by closely packing silica gel, etc. in a cylindrical drum and by directing the apertures among the dehumidifier particles in the axial direction.
CONSTITUTION: The solid dehumidifier, preferably silica gel, alumina sol, etc., has the power to absorb and remove moisture present in air when being brought into contact with moist air and also the power to release the moisture absorbed when being brought into contact with a high-temperature air without exhibiting corrosive action. When the non-deliquescent solid dehumidifier is closely packed in the cylindrical drum 9, the apertures among the solid particles are directed only in the axial direction to cause a mutual interrupting action in the circumferential direction, so that the pathway of air is produced in apertures among packed solid dehumidifier particles (bar-like molding) in the segments partitioned by each duct of regenerating heated air system and dehumidifying air system which are in contact with the aligned end of the bar-like moldings 10, whereby permitting both dehumidifying and regenerating actions and also preventing corrosive action.
