Abstract
PURPOSE: To simplify the mechanism for holding pressure and to eliminate the need for returning sludge, by separating and taking out separately three-phase fluid of gas, liquid, and solid which is mixed in an air exposure bath.
CONSTITUTION: Raw liquid is treated in the incoming settlement bath 1 to separate large solid blocks, and compressed to the desired pressure by the pump 2, then sent to the air exposing bath 3. The air exposing bath 3 contains active sludge whose concentration is adjusted to a required high degree, where the raw liquid is mixed and exposed to air which is being separatedly charged in. The liquid flows down in the bath 3 while being exposed to air, and separated from solid component by the fileter 4, then taken outside through the liquid outlet 6 that has mechanism for holding pressure. Meanwhile, high pressure air from the compressor 10 is injected from the air nozzles 5 located at lower side of the bath 3. The air impinges on the bottom face of the filter 4, backwashes it, and flows up within the bath 3 while causing gas and liquid to contact each other. Finally, the air is exhausted to outside the bath 3 from the air outlet 8 at the top of the bath 3, having pressure keeping mechanism.
