Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the transient response of a pulse motor, by feedbacking a voltage induced in an excitation winding to an exciting current to purely electrically add a braking force. CONSTITUTION:An exciting current is sequentially switched to the excitation windings A, A', B, B' of a four-phase pulse motor through switching elements SWA, SWA', SWB, SWB'. Exciting currents IA, IB are controlled constant by constant voltage circuits QA, QB which include series resistors R1, R2. Voltages ea, eb are induced as shown by b3, b3' in Fig. When a rotor tooth approaches a magnetic pole B rightward in stopping the pulse motor by the excitation of poles A, B, the induced voltage ea increases negatively and the other induced voltage eb decreases positively. At that time, the exciting current IA increases but the other exciting current IB decreases. The same phenomenon takes place when the rotor tooth approaches the pole leftward. As a result, a braking force is effectively applied to the pulse motor by the induced voltages and the transient vibration of the motor is quickly damped.
