Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase the accuracy of quantitative analysis by decreasing the value for blank test, by introducing test piece to the extraction vessel degased with high temperature heating and heating the test piece only at a high temperature.
CONSTITUTION: The extraction vessel 4 of quartz exhausted with the ion pump 9 is heated at about 1000°C before the introduction of test piece with the electric furnace 6-1, to discharge the absorbed gas of the vessel itself. After exhausting the test piece 1 in the pre-exhaust chamber 2, it is placed on the quartz made holding stand in the vessel 4 through the gate valve 3, and the electric furnace 6-1 is selected to the spot heater 6-2 such as infrared ray heating furnace or laser light. With the heater 6-2 controlled with the thermocouple 5 and the temperature control unit 7, only the test piece 1 is heated to a high temperature without heating the external wall of the vessel 4 to discharge hydrogen, which is entered to the hydrogen analysis meter 11 through the needle valve 10. Further, the signal from the analysis meter 11 and the unit 7 enters the recorder 14 to display the amount of hydrogen and temperature. Since the test value for blank test is decreased with this two stage heating system, the accuracy of quantitative analysis for fine amount of hydrogen can especially be increased.
