Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the analytical sensitivity, when heating and atom making the sample being measured by heating tube and power source, by providing a thermal balance means to achieve the thermal balance of the sample after being vaporized in order to atom making the sample sufficiently. CONSTITUTION:Removing cover 10 of sample chamber 4, the sample 13 is put into the sample chamber, and the cover 10 is put on the chamber 4, then the power is supplied from power source 9 to raise the temperature of graphite heating tube 1. When absorption cell 2 is heated, and after the chamber 4, then the wall of the chamber are also heated, the sample 13 is vaporized. The vapor of the sample 13 is led into a heat exchanger 3 by carrier gas. Since the heat exchanger 3 is already higher in temperature than the chamber 4, the sample vapor is balanced with the temperature of the exchanger 3, so that the sample is completely atom making. Also, the substances coexisting in the sample are atom making at the same time. Therefore, the sensitivity may be improved several times when applied as the sample atom making apparatus in an atomic absorption photometer, and the background absorption may be also decreased.
