Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a sound insulation wall which has a simple structure made of thin steel plates, and which withstands vacuumness.
CONSTITUTION: Along a bottom plate 3b of a box 3B being made of plane plates, several channels 9 are arranged in such a way that their groove sides face in one direction and each adjoining channel is hermetically sealed. Rubbers 10 for preventing vibration are installed to each side wall of the channel. Then peripheries of an opening in the box 3B and the group of the channels 9 are sealed by means of welding a steel plate 11 which has a thickness of approximately 0.6mm. As a result, an inner wall 3c of a sound insulation wall 3a becomes the bottom 3b of the channels 9, thus a space between the inner wall 3c and the outer wall 3b is sealed off from the outside. The wall 3a is vacuumed from an exhaust port 8 through a connecting tube 5. By so doing, vibration transfer is greatly restrained, the unit can be carried easily because of its light weight, and a vacuum test can be performed on the spot right after the sound insulation wall has been completed.
