Abstract
PURPOSE: To make it possible to prepare the data corresponding to the size and distance of the reflecting surface of a test piece by accomplishing the calculation in accordance with a preset program with the use of a computer.
CONSTITUTION: The ultrasonic pulses, which are projected from a transmission locator TP to a test piece W, are turned into the echos F from flaws and the echos from the bottom, which are received by a reception locator RP. Here, a judgement level generator LDA responds to the output of a computer MC to generate the echo height judging levels. On the other hand, a gate generator GDA generate the testing section corresponding to the echo transmitting time. By an echo depth A/D converter DAD and a gate juding data level memory LAD, moreover, the computer MC is supplied with the information necessary for accomplishing the processing operation in accordance with the preset program. Thus, it is possible to attain the data corresponding to the size and depth of the flaw or flaws.
