Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the high temp. strength of a turbine rotor by setting a partition plate between the drum of the rotor and each journal or each journal and each coupling to differently heat treating the partitioned parts. CONSTITUTION:Turbine rotor 1 is placed in treating furnace 3, and shielding plate 6 is set between drum 4 and each journal 5 or each journal 5 and each coupling 7 to differently heat treat shielded parts 4, 5. For example, the hardening temps. of drum 4 and journals 5 are 970 deg.C and 900 deg.C, the hardening cooling rates 100 deg.C/min and 160 deg.C/min, and the tempering temps. 650 deg.C and 650 deg.C, respectively. The hardening temps. of drum 4 and journals 5, and couplings 7 may be 840 deg.C and 840 deg.C, and the tempering temps. 605 deg.C and 550 deg.C, respectively. Thus, the FATT value for evaluating the toughness of the material is reduced to prevent the toughness from lowering at service temps.
