Abstract
PURPOSE: To make it possible to perform delicate control of room temperature, for example, with high precision by using a heat sensing method of converting thermal energy into mechanical motion.
CONSTITUTION: When positive-characteristic thermistor 22 is heated, the thermal expansion substance of heat sense driving element 17 (heat sensing method) expands to push a movable member (piston rod 20) out and, in consequence, base body 14 and valve body 8 are pushed down via coil spring 9 to release tha valve, allowing a thermal medium from intake 1 to flow to outlet 2 passing between valve body 8 and valve seat 7. At this time, since the depression distance of valve body 8, i.e. the open degree of the valve is nearly in proportion to the quantity of the thermal medium. the quantity of heat emitted out of the room from outlet 2 can be controlled by varying this valve open degree, thereby adequately controlling the room temperature. On the other hand, the projection distance of piston rod 20 is detected by detecting the temperature of element 17 by thermistor 24, so that the valve open degree can be selected.
