Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance fixability and print resistance by dispersing the toner composed primarily of the polymer expressed by the general formula and coloring agents in carrier solution.
CONSTITUTION: The toner composed primarily of the polymer expressed by general formula of formula [I] and coloring agent is dispersed in the carrier solution of high insulation characteristic and low dielectric constant. Isooctane and triethylamine are added to the equal amount of the copolymer of, e.g., lauryl methacrylate and glycidyl methacrylate o molar ratio 95:5 and the copolymer of lauryl methacrylate and acrylic acid of molar ratio 95:5 and the mixture is stirred at 80°C to cause crosslinking reaction to take place, whereby the polymer is obtained. This polymer and carbon black are kneaded with a aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent to prepare the concentrated toner which is then dispersed in the same solvent as the abovementioned, whereby the liquid developer is prepared.
