Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform electric charge controlling of a liquid developer and to improve the image reproducibility, storage stability, and durability of the developer by containing polyaminopolybutenyl succinic imide. CONSTITUTION:The polybutenylsuccinic anhydride obtd. by allowing to react polybutene with maleic compound and tetrastyrenepentamine are caused to react, whereby polyaminopolybutenyl succinic imide is produced. This is dissolved 10% in ''Isopar H '' to prepare a control agent soln. On the other hand, a conc. toner is produced from a rosin modified phenol, a low mol.wt. polyethylene, carbon black and ''Isoper H ''. The conc. toner is dispersed in the Isoper of 10 times volume and the control agent soln. is added to prepare the developer. The polyaminopolybutenyl succinic imide is used at 0.001-1% volume carrier liquid.
