Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent air-fuel mixture from becoming excessively rich at the time of the deceleration with a miniature control system, which is constructed by providing a control valve near an intake valve and providing a balbnce path on the downstream side of the control valve and communicating the intake path to each cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: A cylinder head 4 is provided with a path 31 extending in the direction of the cylinder arrangement and a balbance path 33 having a nozzle 32 for communicating the path 31 with an intake port 7 of each cylinder. The path 31 of the balance path 33 is connected to a port 38 of a mixture control valve 35 through a duct 34. At the time of the deceleration, a second throttle valve 24 is instantly fully closed, whereby negative pressure is transmitted to a first diaphragm chamber 42 to open a valve 39. As a result, the balance path 33 is connected to an air cleaner 8, so that air is caused to jet from the nozzle 32 and withdrawn together with fuel attached to the wall into a combustion chamber 5, thus preventing air-fuel mixture from becoming excessively rich.
