Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate extra thickness and improve fatigue strength by providing the opposite sides of the boundary between an ear section and the main portion of a vane with notches and inwardly bending opposite side edges of the ear section.
CONSTITUTION: The root of an ear section 6 of an eventual vane 3 is provided with semi-circular notches b. By so doing, no extra thickness is produced at the root of the ear section 6 when the vane 3 is formed by a press work. In addition, local stress concentration is alleviated to improve the fatigue strength. Subsequently, the opposite side edges of the ear section 6 of the eventual vane 3 are inwardly bent (to form bent portions C). When assembling the impeller, the vane 3 may be inserted from the outside after a core 1 and side plates 2 are positioned at predetermined intervals with respect to one another. At this time, the bent portions C serves the role of a guide, so that automatic supply can be readily achieved.
