Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable easy and exact positioning so that stable welding can be executed by projecting pawl parts for positioning respectively to both ends of an expanded sheet consisting of a thin metallic sheet and engaging the pawl members at the time of bending the sheet. CONSTITUTION:The expanded material 11 is formed to the rectangular shape having the width (b) of a cylindrical material 1 and the length L which is the sum of a circumferential length (c) and an overlap margin (d). Projections 4 each of which has a recess 41 to constitute a groove to accept a detaining pawl are formed at both ends of the part to be positioned under the overlap part 2 of the cylindrical body 1 at the time of working the expanded material 1. The expanded material 11 is then bent to a cylindrical shape and the projections 4 of the detaining pawls are simultaneously bent slightly above, so that the projections 4 are fitted into the recesses 41 of the projections 4 continuous with the upper side of the overlap part 2. The detaining pawls are thereby engaged with each other and the overlap part 2 of the cylindrical body 1 is exactly positioned. The cylindrical body is subjected to welding in this state along the overlap part 2 and thereafter, the pawl members 3, 4 are cut by a cutter, etc., by which the required cylindrical body 1 is completed.
