Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a cell-immunity activator having anticancinogenic activity, attenuated toxicity and increased cell-immunity activity by the sub culture od vaxcinia virus in a specific medium.
CONSTITUTION: Vaccinia virus (e. g. vaccinia virus Denken No.1 strain, Lister strain, Ikeda strain, etc.) is subcultured in single-layer cells obtained by tissue culture of chicken embryo cells. Or it is subcultured in single-layer cells obtained by tissue culture of kindey cells of a mouse, subsequently transplanted to single- layer cells obtained by tissue culture of chicken embryo cells, and subcultured. Then, the attenuated vaccinia virus thus obtained, is collected by a conventional method, and purified to obtain a cell immunity activator. It has no carcinogenic activity and no affinity to thenerve of the human body and a rabbit, and suppresses the growth of vaccinia virus and malignant tumor.
