Abstract

PURPOSE: To dehydrate sludge discharged esp. from treatment of sewage or night soil without injecting chemicals by freezing the sludge, which is then compacted by pressurizing force of the grown outer surface of the sludge freezed.
CONSTITUTION: A refrigerant is fed into freeze-melting pipe 12 to freeze sludge, whereby ice 13 adheres to the outside of each pipe 12 and grows radiately.
