Abstract
PURPOSE: To utilize cold heat during defrosting for freezing effectively and carry out heat exchange at a low temp. efficiently by a method wherein a sludge of a freezing side is cooled by cold heat of a sludge of a defrosting side while the sludge of the defrosting side is added with pressure or a freezing mixture.
CONSTITUTION: A sludge of a freezing side is cooled by cold heat of a defrosting side sludge as well as pressure or a freezing mixture is added to the sludge of the defrosting side to lower the m.p. of the defrostig side sludge lower than that of a freezing side sludge and a solid component and a moisture are separated. For example, a sludge is sent into a primary freezing container 3 from a sludge tank 1 through a preheater 2 to fill an interior of a tube 31 and cooled by exchanging heat between said sludge and a frozen sludge is the defrosting chamber 33 and pressurized by a gear pump 4 to be introduced under pressure into a freezing clamber 33 from a secondary freezing container 5. Subsequently, said sludge is cooled and frozen by a cooling medium in a cooling medium chamber 53 and introduced under pressure into a defrosting chamber 33 from a sludge discharge port 55. The pressure within the defrosting chamber 33 is increased to higher than that within the tube 31 to lower the meeting point of the frozon sludge.
