Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the power utilization rate of a magnetron by forming a vacuum vessel with a heat ray energy transmissive and conductive material, providing a circrowave radiating antenna for an anode provided inside the vessel and disposing magnets on both side of the anode.
CONSTITUTION: Anode vanes 12 and an anode tube 14 are disposed in concentric with a directly-heated cathode 11 to construct an anode element forming a resonant cavity. An output antenna rod 16 is fixed to one of the anode vanes 12 extending the microwave radiating part outside the anode tube 14. Magnets 23 and 24 are disposed on respective ends of the anode element in the axial direction. This assembly is put in a vacuum vessel 17 made of a material which is highly transmissive and conductive to microwave, infrared ray and visible light. The magnets suppress the temperature rise on the sides and the anole loss is effectively recovered in the form of thermal radiation energy so that the power utilization rate is remarkably improved.
