Abstract
PURPOSE: To keep stable operation, by surrounding the rotary anode target with the hood of graphite and providing the cylindrical part of hood in closs to the external circumference of the rotor of the rotary anode.
CONSTITUTION: The rotor 15 is supported to the fixed axis 14, and the anode target 17 is fixed to the axis 16, to constitute the rotary anode. The hood 21 of graphite of cylindrical shape with bottom is placed by surrounding the rotary anode. The cover 22 is screwed to the cylindrical part 23. The cover 22 is provided to the beam passing hole 27 at X-ray focus position. The part 26 passed by X-rays is thin. The end 28 of the external circumference 27 of the rotor 15 is fitted to the fixed axis 14 in thermally good condition and it is connected to the radiator. With this constitution, the entire rotary anode is surrounded with the hood of the same potential as the anode, no discharge is caused, and secondary electrons and evaporated material are not attached on the glass vessel 1, the hood well absorbs the radiation heat and dissipates outside the tube. Since graphite almost never avoids X-ray transmission, stable operation is obtained and the establishment of greater capacity X-ray tube can be made.
