Abstract
PURPOSE:To convert microwave energy into far infrared rays and reduce the size of a far infrared ray generator by integrating an electromagnetic wave - far infrared ray converting filter of a dielectric body with a microwave tube. CONSTITUTION:The device of the title comprises a microwave tube 2, and an electromagnetic wave - far infrared ray converting filter 4 consisting of a cylindrical body of dielectric with a bottom fixed at its output antenna 3 to be integrated with it. If the microwave tube 2 is activated, electric energy is converted into microwaves first, which are then converted into far infrared rays by a dielectric body 4 surrounding the output antenna of the microwave tube 2 to be radiated externally. If the far infrared ray generator 1 is used for a heating energy source instead of, for example, a magnetron of a microwave oven, then far infrared radiation heating can be performed instead of microwave heating. Microwave energy can thus be converted into far infrared energy in a simple structure, and the size of the device can be small.
