Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a variable phase shifter in which the reversible phase shifter and the non-reversible phase shifter are unified together. CONSTITUTION:Ferrite 4 is provided to rectangular TE10 waveguide 1, and driving coils 5 and 6 are wound to the ferrite. When the current is flown to coil 5 in the direction of the solid-line arrow, ferrite 4 is magnetized in the direction of the dot-line arrow to feature the function as a non-reversible phase shifter. While the current is flown to coil 6 and thus ferrite 4 is magnetized in the axis direction to function as a reversible phase shifter. And the current flowed to coil 5 and 6 is controlled properly to obtain the desired reversible and non-reversible phase shift amount. Also the ratching ferrite is used for ferrite 4 in order to secure the digital variation for the phase shift amount.
