Abstract

PURPOSE: To stabilize the operation, by selecting the timing cancelling the magnetization of iron core due to change-over through the tap switching signal set in response to the variation of input voltage by an exciting direction selecting and setting circuit and the output signal from an excitation memory circuit.
CONSTITUTION: An excitation memory circuit 15 calculates the DC magnetization direction and intensity of the iron core of a series transformer at tap change and stores it. The timing in which the exciting direction of change-over can cancel the magnetization of the iron core, is selected with the tap chage-over signal set according to the variation of input voltage and the output signal from the circuit 15, by means of an exciting direction selecting and setting circuit 16. Thus, the saturation due to storage of DC magnetization of the series transformer can be avoided and the operation can be made stable.
