Abstract

PURPOSE: To automatically accomplish the measurement of protein concentration and the control of condensation, while sparing the working power, by using a disposable guide tube, which is made integral with a prism member, as an abdominal dropsy filter.
CONSTITUTION: There is disposed in a condensing and circulating passage C or a polyacryl resin pipe of an abdominal dropsy a disposable guide tube 18 which is equipped with an integral trapezoidal prism member 24 made of the same material. The guide tube 18 is fixed to an optical unit D by means of a suitable prism fixing cover 25. The light from a light source 27 comes as an incident light X into the prism cell 24 and is extracted therefrom as a reflected Y having a light quantity varied in proportion to the protein concentration of the liquid. The reflected light Y enters a sensor 34 and a comparison sensor 35. In an amplification control unit E, the protein concentration is displayed in a display unit F in response to the signals from the sensor. The system is controlled such that the condensing operations are repeated until the preset protein concentration is reached.
