Abstract

PURPOSE: Title tow in which electrically conductive fibers of 10W106 ohm.cm electric resistivity are blended in the form of, continuous strings and bands, thus permitting the simplification of blending operations, producing low-blended yarn of uniform quality with high yield because of no formation of waste fibers.
CONSTITUTION: Electrically conductive fibers 1 of 10W106 ohm.cm resistivity are blended with the fiber tow in the form of continuous strings or bands. The shrinking form of the conductive fibers is preferably almost the same as the synthetic fibers 2 from the point of view of reducing the trouble on spinning. In respect of cutting tow, the strength and elongation of fibers 1 are preferably lower than those of fiber 2. The amount of fibers 1 blended is preferably 0.1W50wt% on the basis of the total tow weight. Subtows of both fibers are sent with rolles and piled on their way, simultaneously crimped, whereby they are blended.
