Abstract

PURPOSE:To simply manufacture flat and thin batteries by punching the positive electrode flux molded into the flexible shape in specified dimensions and clamping it on the metal wire which is welded to the positive electrode case. CONSTITUTION:Positive electrode fluxes, for example, 10 parts by weight of acetylene black and 5 parts by weight of poly 4-ethylene fluoride resin dispersion liquid are added to 100 parts by weight of the electrolyzed manganese dioxide heated for 4 hours at 450 deg.C as resin solid components and are rubbed out. Proper lubricant is added to these, rolled, and dried to obtain successive flexible sheet. For example, the thickness is 0.5 mm. The sheet is punched into a disk 3 of 16 mm in diameter and is clamped on the stainless steel 20-mesh wire which is spot-welded to the positive electrode case 1. The flexible sheet of 0.1 mm or more in thickness can be manufactured. This enables difficult to damage and thin positive electrode active materials to be obtained and flat and thin batteries to be simply manufactured.
