Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a durable and economical automatic control apparatus for power switching cluth quickly and reliably operated on a hybrid vehicles which allows to switch the driving power source from an engine to an electric motor and vice versa.
CONSTITUTION: A power switching cluth 10 is provided with release bearings 11 and attatched on a flywheel in an engine 6. A rotary shaft 2 in an electric motor 11 is installed in the center of a clutch 10. A vacuum booster 18 is provided with a clutch release spring 33 which releases the clutch from the bearings 11, and with a servo cylinder 22 which is actuated to connect the clutch. One of chambers 27 divided by a diaphragm 25 in the booster is connected to a vacuum tank 32 through a three directional solenoid valve 30 and a check valve 31. When an engine is used as a driving power source by a switch 40, the system operates in such a manner that the clutch 10 is connected.
