Abstract

The excavator has a hydraulic motor (2) which is mechanically coupled (5) to the rim (6) of a wheel on the vehicle. The motor is coupled to a fluid distributor (11) with a pedal (12) which controls position. The distributor is supplied by a hydraulic pump (9) driven (10) by a diesel engine (8). A pedal (31) on the vehicle is provided with three angular positions (31,31a,31b) providing angular travel to operate on the control shaft (33) of an electric relay (15) to operate an electrovalve (14) for a selective coupling circuit (13). Further angular travel operates a control (34) on a second relay (29) in the wheel braking circuit. The dual purpose controls are intended to reduce operator fatigue.
